Hi,

i have always foundthis problematic, as the seals alway break intime.
Is there aproduct or "trick of the trade" that ensures a really good seal and no leaks?

You need to make sure your floor is rigid and stable. Ply under a shower tray is recommended.
I recommend tanking the walls prior to tiling for a water tight job.

Thanks,

i intend to replace the chipboard floorwith, WBP 18mm if i remember correctly.
I am also tanking, can the membrane be used sothat it slightly overlaps from the walls on to the tray? i am assuming this is whaat you mean?

thanks again

I was also thinking of using Tanking (I was Looking at the Dunlop System) Apparantly you put the tape 50mm up the wall and 50mm onto the tray. Could you tell me if this loks unsightly when finished and tiled ? As I presume you will see the edge of the tanking when its all finished ?
Cheers for any help.

You don't put the tape 50mm onto the tray. Apply it so that it'll be hidden by the time you've siliconed.
