timing belt or chain ?

hi guys does the 2005 VAUXHALL ASTRA 1.7 CDTi 16V Design [100] 5dr Diesel Hatchback have a timing belt or is it a chain ?...was gonna buy one but the bloke selling says its chain driven...done some research most say its a timing belt...any help please ?...ta

Pretty sure the 1.7 CDTi is belt driven, they are also prone to water pump failure. resulting in needing a new belt which can be costly
