I'm skimming an internal wall with lime and sand mix. Struggling to keep the mix on the wall I realise when I get home that I added too much sand to lime. I used a 4:1 mix on an internal single skin brick wall.

I'm worried now that the whole lot will need to come off. One saving grace is that I only went on very thing 0-4 millimetres, as it was extremely difficult to apply with a trowel. No surprise really as I was basically troweling sand onto the wall.

As you can tell I'm very frustrated and annoyed and I've only myself to blame for not checking.

Thoughts ?

NHL* or hydrated ? but suspect it would be better off.
edit: what sand did you use and how many coats intended

I used sharp sand. It's NHL 3.5

I've checked and it's set rock hard so I think I got away with it on this occasion but I definitely will get the ratios right next time. That was grim I can tell you !
