Hi Jimmy,

You've got to start somewhere, and as soon as you get a few under your belt, whether you won or lost the contract, your confidence will grow. My personal rules ( they will be different for each installer) are:-

1. Know your product 'Cold'.... Every last minute detail.

2. Treat the prospective customer fairly... no rip off's

3. Let the prospect talk .... Don't 'butt in', wait for them to finish.

4. Sell yourself and not the product ... Let them feel and know you are genuine.

There are a few thousand more, but you'll pick these up as you go along.

Best Wishes.

People buy from people. They are more likely to buy from you if they trust you. It's less about price and more about respect. I feel that if your honest and caring, they'll be more likely to choose you over some faceless corporate or flashy salesman.

Good luck...

try to break the job down into smaller sections ie how long it would take you to install the wiring or pirs etc then think of a sensible hourly rate.
