Hi,
I have to put a 90 degree bend in a white waste pipe.
I have a miter box and saw to cut it but what glue should I use to join them and how can I hold them in position while the glue dries?
You cannot glue two bare ends of a waste pipe together.
The bond area is too small and it will fail.
You need a coupler section to join lengths of waste pipe.

Not completely foolish, I recall a house once where the occupier had painstakingly made a Y piece to connect the washing machine and dishwasher into the same waste. Goodness knows how long it had taken him as he'd shaped both ends to a perfect fit before using copious amounts of Araldite or similar to glue the parts together.
He was also a Professor I believe, although certainly not in Plumbing.
