To catch a Rat

How do I catch a Rat with killing or hurting it.

I just want transport it to a wood far enough it can't find it's way back.
Join the Tory party, you will find plenty.
Although finding a cage big enough might be a problem.

You can get live traps, which as the title suggests, they are caught live.
The good thing about live traps as opposed to poison, is that they can be released elsewhere and you avoid the problem of a dead decaying rat or mouse causing a smell somewhere where you can't get access.

I'm thinking of Hertfordshire. Last thing I need is it coming back home

Let's hope that your rat is not as clever as this one....

You just don't get it. How could I possibly afford one of those?
Says the man with a pair of £200 trainers...

...but i was thinking of you as the farmer, having mercy on poor ol' ratty before that 'bot could slay them all.

Don't wear them. So uncomfortable. I'll end up giving them away.

Foolish man I am.
I bought a pair of these in about 1989 - I’m a sucker for a gadget. Quite expensive at the time - about £130 ish I think. You put them on, tied them up and then you pumped the basketball on the tongue to inflate a bladder that encompassed your whole foot. Trouble was, there was a little button on the heel to deflate them and my kids who were toddling/crawling at the time were obsessed with toddling/crawling up behind me and letting them down. I found them in the loft about a year ago but the basketball on the tongue had rotted/perished and didn’t work any more so I binned them.

So the trap is simply not working, and I've left some tasty treats.

Poison is out the question as I have dogs possibly a cat and children.

So I'm looking at buying this from cash converters

It's a tasty bit of kit but I'm not totally comfortable about killing an animal.
