To Deck or Not to Deck (Slippy ??)

O.k just done a pond extention and we are torn between slabbing or decking ,leading up to the edges of the pond .We have been told that in winter Decking can be very very slippy .Anyone here like to comment on this please.

use a decking with a decent pattern on it. providing its kept reasonably clean then there shouldnt be a problem with it
 
Have found that the crucial part of if decking is to become slippery is how exposed it is. The more covered or protected the more likely that there will be some degree of natures coating......
 
Decking will always be slippery unles it gets direct sun all year round. Personally I would use old paving slabs, yea they are heavy but when cleaned up with a power washer they are very attractive. If only the councils in uk had power washed the pavements instead of replacing them by blocks we would have a much more attractive environment.
