Im thinking of re-building our drive and adding lights to the gates, my inclination is to bury duct now and do lights gates etc later to spread the costs abit. If I use 50mm polypipe (nice 5m lengths) would I still need to use armoured (SWA) cable or -as its protected would ordinary (cheaper easier to use) T&E be ok? One end would be in the garage attached to the house the other terminated in the light fittings

many thanks

with polly pipe you need to use SWA cable or one with a metalic sheath for protection ( AliTube etc.. ).

if it was a metal conduit then you could use normal cable, but it's easier to just use SWA..
