Hello,
Hopefully someone can help.

The situation:
8.5msq floor area. In the top left corner of this area, in an otherwise flawless concrete floor, lies a small mountain of concrete, which at its highest point is nearly 15mm higher than orginal floor.

We don't know what is beneath this mountain, and why it was put there, but we are reluctant to chip it away.

What we'd like to do:
We have 300x300mm ceramic tiles that we'd like to lay over the whole floor.

Should we lay 12mm (exterior grade)plywood on the floor up to the edges of the uneven area, then use a patch screed over the uneven area?

Or should we use a levelling compound on the whole floor without the use of plywood?
If so which compound do we use? Febflor? and more importantly is it easy to apply?

Thanks.

Best to chip it away and it maybe nothing to worry about, if you don't want to then use levelling compound, many good brand out there, see here for FAQ on floor compound.

Do you owned the Queen Victoria pub in Eastender because the mountain could be Dirty Den head, if so, leave it alone
