Hi all,

My mrs has been pestering me to add a downstairs cloakroom in a space we've got at the end of our hallway.

The toilet would be situated approx 2m from the existing soil stack which wouldn't give it much of a slope....

My question is... What is the minimum 'slope' I need for it to work ?

Thanks in advance....

The recommended fall is 1 in 40, so that's an inch per Metre.

Inches per Metre... How's that for a confusing way of measuring something.

you can go less with a nice smooth plastic soil pipe ;) the 1:40 is a rule of thumb for underground drains from back when they were 2foot lengths of saltglazed clay 4 inch dia................same as 1:6 for 6 inch
