I'd like to remove my current toilet, line the floor with 9mm ply, and put the toilet back.

It's a close coupled (I think thats the right term) cistern. The outlet from the toilet goes out the back, into a white plastic thing, into a black plastic thing, into the cast iron soil pipe.

How much movement will there be in that lot? Asking before I start obviously.

Will it allow for the fact that the toilet is going to be 9mm, maybe a tiny bit more, higher?

Or if I wanted to replace the whole toilet, do they all have the outlet at the same height above the floor.

Many thanks.

I've actually got this crazy idea that as well as lining the floor with ply, I'll also get the vinyl laid, THEN fit the toilet and basin pedestal. So any, er, spillages aren't soaking into the timber.

Is that a crackpot idea?

No - not crackpot at all. Silicone-seal around the base of the pan so a little yellow lake does not form under the pan from where you will smell it, but won't see it.
