When changing a toilet seat that is fixed from the top. You cant get to the fixings underneath as there concealed. When you remove the screw does the plug that goes in to the hole on the toilet usually pull out pretty easily? Thanks.

If you`ve removed the screw completely then often the expanding fixing drops to the bottom.

Thanks. Is it no problem if it falls down? Will it not pull up once the screw is removed?

By unscrewing the screw the pressure is reduced on the expanding fitting so it should come out as one but if replacing and the fitting drops down then it just sits at the bottom where it can stay.

Thanks and the plug that has come with the new toilet seat should fit in OK? There all a similar size I guess.

The sizes can vary however as they expand to grip then you should be ok. Just degrease the holes before assembling.

The removal depends on the design of the anchor. Some are like a toggle ,and others like an expanding plug ,the screw draws up a nut and it expands the plug on that type. So the nut has to be pushed down and out ,to be able to withdraw the plug from above ,usually easier to just push the whole thing downward so it falls off the pan to the floor.
