Hi all
We are currently in the process of renovating a en-suite and have hit a bit of snag when it comes to routing the toilet waste. The photo below shows the wall against which the toilet and basin will be fitted
The basin waste will be moved to under the floor and the supply pipes re-routed slightly, and the plan was to then have a couple of free-standing units for the toilet and basin, such as these from Wickes
https://www.wickes.co.uk/Wickes-Tallinn-Halifax-Oak-Freestanding-Toilet-Unit---870-x-600mm/p/229294
https://www.wickes.co.uk/Wickes-Tallinn-Halifax-Oak-Push-to-Open-Vanity-Unit---600-x-550mm/p/229292
The problem that we face is that the centre of the toilet waste pipe is about 24cm above the floor, and it seems that all the floor-standing toilets available have the waste a standard 18cm above the floor. There's no scope to move the waste pipe unfortunately. The toilet we took out was mounted on a wooden plinth - we now understand why!
I'm wondering if it's possible to use a frame such as this
https://www.wickes.co.uk/Abacus-Wall-Mounted-WC-Frame-with-Dual-Flush-Cistern---820-mm/p/230263
in conjunction with the freestanding unit and effectively mount a wall hung toilet on the front of the unit. It's my understanding that the frame linked above is adjustable so it would be possible to get the toilet to the correct height for the drain. It wouldn't be possible to actually put the frame in the wall as there's not enough space.
Any thoughts or suggestions welcome
Thanks
Neil
