Atropine.

It was many moons ago I did NBC warfare training in the RAF, that was from memory, not Google!! but thank you all the same for pointing it out.

Me too. Much is lost in the mists of time, but I seem to remember the procedure was to bang the needle into the thigh without hesitation and not worry too much about the pain it caused. I suppose that's preferable to dying.

There was something else. You had to quickly remove your gas mask, place four large pills (three white and one pink, I seem to remember) in your mouth, immediately replace your gas mask, then swallow the pink pill first. They never made it clear how you were supposed to know which was the pink one!

Another thing I have always wondered:

Sometimes, when I look directly at a distant feint star, I can't see it. But, if I look slightly to one side, the star appears.

Has anyone else noticed this or is it just me and my dodgy minces?

Sometimes, when I awake from a fantastic dream, I look at my partner lying at my side and it is not Keira Knightly.

Have you tried looking slightly to the side?

Do you mean looking to the side and using my imagination??
