yes I did turn all the power off.. but not until i got up at 13:00 today...
it's an old wylex board and the breakers say "type 2"...
there's exposed metalwork and terminals all throughout the thing..

the more modern ones I don't mind adding a circuit live if I have to , but not on that thing..

ok it's fast approaching midnight as i sit and type this and I'm bored now..
I know that I'll not sleep until about 4am so I'm thinking of doing a bit of electrical work..
I have 2 new circuits to terminate at my CU ( s** part P, I'm qualified.. ), and a couple of candles as well as my rechargable dewalt light..
recon it's a good idea to start it now? :)

What about 110V site lights and a generator set on the drive? Guess the neighbours might be a bit ****ed with the noise so just supply them free ear protectors :D You could run the house in festoon lighting so you could do the entire job at night. Couple of 2D 110V fluros by the CU so you have bright light. Heck you then even have 110V for tools and the Dewalt 110V site radio.

I prefer relentless after 6 cans I work like the Duracell bunny.

Adam.

yeah it's due a change whwn I can afford the board and the fee to the LABC..
but in the meantime I've just put 2 double sockets and the cooker hood on the same 16A breaker as the boiler.. ( old immersion feed it's marked as.. )

if anyone out there has a NB20 and an NB6 wylex type 2 breaker lying about I could give them a good home for a few months.. ( you can have them back and all the others in the board when I change it if you want.. )

I have acquired a 15th ed wylex board today (metal) with NB20 and NB5, sorry it is in t van so didn't spot if the were type 2 or not. If you want them there yours just post me some stamps back to the value on the envelope i send them in (I live my life short of stamps)

Anyway let me know. I undewrstand there is a PM option on here, though I have yet to find it.

it's strange, you have to be friends even though I've got my message settings to "anyone can send me a message"..
