Hello

I have recently rmoved the skirting Boards from my front room and then had the walls skimmed. I am now going to fix new skirting boards but the nails that attached the old boards are protruding from the wall. I have tried to wrench the nails out with a hammer but this has pulled away a big chunk of the wall so I am now planning on cutting the nails off but I don't know what tool to use.

I am either thinking of buying a cheap angle grinder or some kind of bolt cutting tool but wondered if a grinding drill bit might do the job?!?

Has anyone got any good suggestions?

Thanks!

Buy a small angle grinder (115mm) and cut the nails off. If you use one of the very thin (1mm) slitting discs with it, the nails will be cut through in no time. You'll never regret buying the angle grinder anyway!
Cheers John

if they are cut nails you can knock the nail sidways to around 40 degrees then the other way and after a couple off times they will break
