If you have just installed a new Windows Operating System, then you will need to get the graphic drivers for that version.

I also have this problem, it is extremely annoying. The laptop works fine if i use an external monitor, but like your problem it has a blumin' white border at the bottom making it impossible to use as a laptop!

I am running Windows 98 Second Edition.
The white screen comes on when the laptop is started, so that would imply that is is not windows (for once!). I have tried the BIOS, however no result.

Did you manage to sort out the problem on your laptop?
If so, please could you give me an explanation.
If not, i'm still looking
So i'll keep you informed.

May i suggest you post again, (your own thread) you may want to see item 17 as yet , the origonal poster only made 3 posts that being his last, almost a month ago.

by you making your own thread YOU can give information to any questions asked

These machines are old, so could be signs of a defective invertor or panel. I wouldn't waste too much time on them.
