Hi
I have a question here about installing a heated towel rail Dimplex 90 w
It has a double pole switch controlling just on and off.
I bought an electric timer to control this a timeguard
FST11A SupplyMaster 24 Hour Fused Spur Timeswitch
Now my problem there is no earth connection on the timer
I may have to put this between the switch and the cable or do i just use a back box with an earth terminal in it.
The current back box is plastic and the switch is earthed
It is only advice i am after as it interests me
Thanks in advance

The timer face plate does not have a terminal for earth, but if you are installing a surface mounted or sunk metal back box these facility will normally be offered. So you connect to that.

Not at the moment just a fuse but i understand i can replace this with an equivalent rcd

The FUSE only provides overcurrent protection.

The RCD will provide you with earth leakage protection and is a requirement for electrical items in bathrooms. You MUST have this.

So you will also need to install something like THIS

Unless that circuit is already RCD protected (in the consumer unit, for example).
