Towel Radiator Valve

Hi,

I need to take the towel radiator off to paint the wall. It has a thermostat on one end and a different valve on the other end but not sure if it turns or if it’s a cap? I will add a picture. I don’t want to force it and snap something. It is quite rusty so may need changing in future.

Try turning the chrome part on the left. Turn it clockwise when viewed end-on from the left. May be tight. Looks like it may have been leaking at some point.

It’s not moving at all. Is it worth putting WD40 on it? I just don’t want to snap it and flood the house lol

The top of the cap will screw off, then the main part of the cap will come off. You will then need a spanner to turn it off. Be aware that it will most likely leak when you do turn it off.

I’ve got the silver cap off and now it looks like this in the pic? What way does this turn inside?

Clockwise ,with an Allen key ( also known as a hexagonal wrench) should close the valve.
