(1) The UK has declared that it doesn't want freedom of movement. Therefore UK must have a hard border with the EU to keep foreigners out.

(2) However the UK has also declared that it wants an open border between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

The Republic of Ireland is part of the EU and Northern Ireland is a part of the UK.

Therefore it is impossible to meet requirement (1) and (2) simultaneously.

The Brexers are a bunch of irresponsible arses who insist on being given the impossible.

I know how borders work

Apart from one very crucial aspect, it seems.

the EU has land and sea borders with lots of non EU countries, the EU imports millions of tons of goods from non EU countries without any problem ,so if the EU can seamlessly import from and export to non EU countries why should N.Ireland outside the EU cause any problems.

Because all of those borders, through which all those tonnes of goods etc pass, have physical barriers, customs posts, immigration officials, passport control, border security forces, interview rooms, inspection facilities etc etc.

Maybe you are one of those ****s who like to exploit the threat of IRA terrorism to scare people.

And maybe you are one of those f***wits who doesn't understand that reporting a poll which showed that 87% of NI's leave voters and 75% of English Conservatives would support the collapse of the peace process as long as Brexit is delivered is not exploiting the threat of IRA terrorism.

I'm not saying that they want them, but they are saying that they would be prepared to see them return.

They are saying that they would see that as an acceptable price to pay for Brexit.

Are you claiming that it does not have any?

Are you claiming that a plane from anywhere in the world can land at Heathrow, and all the passengers just disembark, collect their luggage, and wander out of the terminal without having to go through Customs or Passport Control?

Are you claiming that a ship from anywhere in the world can dock at Tilbury, and all its containers can be loaded onto trucks and trains and transported onwards with no involvement from HMRC, no risk of inspections etc?

It was about the UK control over NI and re-unification of Ireland.
UK control over NI, within Brexit, that voted overwhemingly to Remain, is partly within the Sinn Fein remit, should they so choose it to be.
SF and their supporters decide what is their political ambitions.
