Edit .. The comment I wrote ( in English ) seems to have got lost.

LED lamps are being set into the road surface to tell pedestrians looking down at their mobile phone that the "red man" pesdestrian traffic light is at red. The aim of this experiment is to try and prevent people who have not seen the red man ( because they are looking down at their phone ) from walking out in front of a tram that has got the green light.

So, TCALSS, they are trying out LED lights in the pavement on a couple of crossings for people who can't be arsed to look where they're going???

What next - the authorities will be issuing body airbags for peddies to wear so that if one of these wnakers bumps into them while not looking where they are going, they won't suffer injury?
