Because people looking down at their mobile phones cannot see pedestrian traffic lights the town of Ausburg has started an experiment with LED lamps set in the road surface. These will flash red when the "red man" is lit telling pedestrians not to cross the tram tracks.

The aim is to stop people who haven't seen the red man ( because they are looking down at their phone ) from walking blindly out in front of trams.

Same answer as the other one....

If people cannot be arsed to look where they are going, they deserve to get squashed!

Do people expect someone else to be responsible for their safety all the time? Gee.....

It's a bit old hat, isn't it - traffic lights?

Surely they could have installed something to detect the speed and direction of nearby mobile phones and send a message saying "Look where you're going you stupid ***ker".

I'm more concerned with the job creators and prolongers who think up such rubbish.
