How do you know?
Saying that Sajid or Abdul are not typical British names amounts to being a Muslim hater now?
They are fairly common. I'd be less surprised to meet an Abdul or a Sajid than an Enzo or a Kai.

They might not have been common names in the 1950s, but the past is a different country.

In terms of ones own view on this sort of stuff, much of it's informed by your personal life, social circle, work environment and where you live.

Also, it's all just transitional, a transition that never ends. Some (most?) on here may not consider the likes of Abdul to be a typical British name. Fast forward a few decades and the opinion will undoubtedly have changed.

I'm not referring to the rights or wrongs, I'm just referring to the way it is.

Yep, BIG loser. Off you pop now son.

What makes names like Mike, John, Simon, Jack "British sounding" and makes names like Mohammed, Rishi, Sajid, Khalid, not sound British?

Note - this has nothing to do with how common these names are. It has nothing to do with whether you would use them for a child of yours, it's about your view of how they "sound".

The names in https://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/train-stabbings.651700/post-6132354 were all British ones.

What's the reason you say they don't sound it, when they are?

I like David Baddiel yet i can't stand the sight of Benjamin Netanyahu.
Both are Jewish.

Go figure.
You just echo my point precisely. Thats be it if you dont hate all Jews

I sat the row up from David Baddiel at Villa Park. FA cup semi Final against MAN U.
Rudd Gullit scord for Chelsea. But lost 2-1

your opinion of Sadiq Khan is blatantly manifested across the forum by now.
Yes, I dislike the midget with all my heart but for what he does, not for his ethnic origins.
I also dislike Starmer and Johnson (they're white), this doesn't mean I dislike all white people.
I like Zia Yusuf yet I dislike Sadiq Khan.
Both are Muslim.

Could it be Johnny just doesn't like Sadiq Khan?
His 3 neurons can't grasp such complicated subjects...

Again, it's not a matter of how common they are.

The test is to ask a foreigner .
Example: if you ask an average Spanish person (of Spanish origins, not woke) if Sajid and Khalid are British names, they will say...
Similarly, if they ask an average English person (of English origins, not woke) if Jamal is an Italian name, they will say ...

As pointed out, most likely in 50 years time, under the British Caliphate, Mohammed and Sadiq will be very British names.

This thread shows we have a lot of Muslim haters on this forum.
That’s the problem right here in your post. Accusations of hating Muslims if you dare speak out about concerns. You may be very naive or just like calling people a racist with no grounds to the accusation.

He is obsessed with calling people muslim haters and yet chose to go and live as far away from any as he possibly could in a little white village with a grand total of 23 Muslims. I have more than that on my street and they are my friends and neighbours and were here before I moved in.

The bloke who prevented further carnage and is still in a bad way in hospital has been named - George Cross coming his way 100%. Probably others will receive it too.
