Hi,

The transformer for our DFS sofa Stopped working. I opened it and there
is a fuse in it which is broken. It was soldered in and after removing
it I cannot see what size it is. The fuse is sitting on the input side
of the transformer, see attached photos the red circle indicates where the fuse is.

(Ignore the fuse in the in the photo it is 0.5A fuse that i tested with which seems to be too small as it broke immediately)

Any ideas of what size fuse I need?

Thanks.

The fuse is there to protect the circuit.

Had you a load switched on when it blew the new fuse? If not then, you have a short circuit somewhere. Probably in the mains (primary) windings of the transformer. But disconnect all outputs to check.
If you had to switch on something to blow the fuse, install a temporary fuse and measure current flow in (mains) or out (to sofa) with a multimeter set to AC current. The current flowing into the transformer will be quite small, multiply this figure by 1.5 to obtain fuse size.

See how you go

Stick an RCD plug/socket on the lead before you start work

can I ask what on earth you have in your sofa that requires a transfomer?

I'm intrigued
