I'm sure when I laid Slate I was advised to seal before grouting, in case the grout stained, then again after grouting.

Can't remember what I did with the marble!

Anyway, I've just laid a travertine floor and am going to use ivory grout, do I need to seal before I grout, or OK to clean/seal afterwards?

At least two coats before and a couple more after, will depend on how porus the travatine is.

Will the ivory grout stain the travertine then? That was the only reason I did it on slate as anything seemed to be hard to remove from those unless sealed.

I'm sure when I did my marble ones I grouted before sealing without problem, but can't be sure
