Treatment/Stain for log cabin

Will be taking delivery of a Dunster House log cabin shortly and was wondering what the best reasonably priced treatment/stain was?

It is spruce wood and quite light looking. I would like to treat it for protection against the elements but maintain the same or similar colour. Anyone any specific brand they can recommend?
