Trevi boost - shower head and hose

Hi,

Does anyone know if you have to use Trevi boost shower head and hose or can it be replaced with a reasonable quality alternative? The official head is £36 and the hose £26.

Surely all the clever stuff is in the valve unit and the shower head is just a shower head?
