I have been trying to repair the Trevi Therm shower I have at home.

The shower only provides water when the temp control is above the 40°C temp override setting. If the temp is turned below that setting water ceases to flow.

I have removed the thermostatic cartridge, which was silted with some deposits, but not many (the house has a water softener fitted but we just moved back in and I'm not sure the tenants used to fill it up with salt). I replaced the cartridge with a new one and the problem has not been resolved.

I have now removed the 1/2" cartridges to see if there was anything wrong but I'm not sure whether replacing them will fix the problem? Or should I try to flush the system?

Any thoughts gratefully received...thanks

Sussed it. I removed the 1/2" cartridges and when I looked at the mechanism the bottom wasn't turned as I turned supply on so the cold wasn't flowing at all. Ordered new part and should be sorted asap.

Thanks for the info for future reference.
