Tonight, I found the start stop switch doesn't turn off the water, The water stops when I switch off the mains.
With the switch in the stop position, the pump goes, when I press the switch to start it, the pump slows down slightly.
With the switch in either position I can vary the speed.

Any ideas please.

Your post is a bit confusing.

Your water flow keeps running when the stop/start button is in the stop position, But water flow stops when you isolate the mains power.

Does the pump stop when you have the stop/start button in the stop position ? or does the pump keep running ?

The pump runs when the stop/start is on or off.

With the mains supply on, & the start/stop in the stop position the pump runs, , if I then push the switch to start, the pump slows down slightly.

Water come out ok in both positions.

Isolating it, stops the pump completely. :( :( :( :(

Faulty switch?

I'll check continuity of the switch tomorrow. It's lasted 5 years.

What makes do you recommend?

Thanks

Well took the cover off, high resistance, sprayed it with contact cleaner. Now seems ok, it's only a temp fix, but there's no point in replacing it as its 5 years old. Hopefully it will last until something else goes wrong & I will get a new shower.
