Hello

I have been away for two weeks and turned our boiler off, it will now not re-ignite. It is a Vokera Linea 24, I have followed the instructions which is basically setting it to off/reset for 10 seconds and then turning it back on again. I have tried a couple of times with no luck.

The gas supply to the cooker is working fine. Is there anything else I can do to try and fix this, the boiler was only serviced about 6 months ago.

Many thanks

How old this boiler? the reason I ask is they used to have a faulty contron knob that broke off at the PCB, so you think its being reset but nothing is happening.
When you turn it off does it go off, ie; not light for hot water?

Check the system pressure has not dropped.
Look for at least 1bar on the pressure gauge.

Thanks for your replies.

I re-pressurised the system to 1.5 bar and when you turn it off/reset the lights go out. The boiler is about 11 years old.

I was hoping to avoid having to call out an engineer but that now looks likely, any idea on what could be wrong and the likely cost of fixing it?

We don't bite you know.
Some of us are half decent. Just hope you find a good one.
Avoid main companies like British Gas, Eon etc. They are generally hopeless and will try and sell you a boiler or an overpriced powerflush. Find someone local.

What error code are you getting?

It is error code 01.

:D I'm sure you are lovely, it's just that as it's a bank holiday I won't be able to call anyone till weds and the house feels surprisingly cold for June. Also no matter how good and nice they are it's still going to be more expensive than if I could fix it myself.

Don't mean to doubt you but when you topped up the pressure or at any other time have you maybe touched the yellow lever? It should go the same direction as the pipe so long way pointing towards you.

I've just checked the yellow lever and it does not quite line up with the pipe, I tried to turn it but it is stuck and only moves to a position which is at right angles to the pipe.

I'll post a pic up tomorrow, what does the yellow lever do?

The yellow lever is the gas to the boiler, but I think if it almost lines up with the pipe it should be ok.

The position of the yellow lever hasn't changed since it has been working so I think it is engineer time.

Thanks for all your help.
