How will the upcoming attack on Iran go.

It could be that the Iranians themselves held back from releasing the hostages in the expectation of a deal with Reagan , whom they knew was open to a deal involving the supply weapons to Iran.
Not quite the fact you are trying to prove, if a congressional task force could not find any evidence, I doubt that you have.
  • Congressional Findings: A 1992-1993 House October Surprise Task Force found "no credible evidence" that the Reagan campaign held talks with Iranian officials to delay the hostage release.

Trump and his Israeli agitators gaslit gullible Iranians into creating havoc in the belief that Trump would send in the calvary to rescue them.
He tried the same with the Kurds but they didn't bite, they know from experience that Trumps promises are worthless.

Not forgetting that his side kick said that Britain has never fought a war for 50 years difference between
At least Britain won the war it fought 50 years ago, unlike the Yanks who have never won a war on their own.
The Russians bailed them out in WW2.
When they tried to go it alone in Vietnam, they got stuffed by peasants with AK47s.

BBC reporting that US and Iran holding talks on suspending hostilities.

I'm confused.

I thought Trump said x days back the war had already been won?

And that is just the Navy!!! Shocking..
The army is just as bad if not worse. You could fit our army into wembley stadium and still have empty seats. That is made up of fighting soldiers and support staff. Our armed forces no longer carry any weight in todays modern world. Cut backs and redundancy has been going on for years, politicians looked upon defence as a secondary expense we didnt need. It will take around 5 years to get us back into anywhere near being useful or able to fight in any war lasting over a month. We have virtually used our reserves up by giving it away to Ukraine. The armchair generals on here seem to think we would crush Russia in a fight, we could last a few weeks of intensive fighting and then virtually run dry.

No one cares about UK, this is 2026 not the 18th century.

We no longer have the empire to pump money into our military. Pre WW1 the navy estimates alone made up around 1/3 of the GDP of the British isles. Now we are reliant only on ourselves.

Back to Iran though:

Trump has backed down on striking Iranian power plants, presumably to avoid further escalation from Iran. It is unclear if the US and Iran are negotiating as Trump says yes and Iran says no, and I don't trust either.

Iran reportedly denies talks to end war

An Iranian source later denied that the US and Iran were holding talks about ending the war.

"There is no direct contact with Trump, not even through intermediaries. Trump retreated after hearing that our targets would be all power plants in West Asia," the unnamed source told the Iranian state-affiliated Fars News Agency.
