Unless you are in the Israeli Army, obviously.

Israeli commanders wouldn't give an order to blow up a hospital or a school for no reason but to cause terror, they'd make up a reason like Hamas are using it as a base.As a soldier it is drilled into you to obey orders, you trust that your commanding officer will only give you an order that is both reasonable and lawful. If an officer gives you an order to engage an enemy or a command to neutralise it, everyone is aware of the meaning and you do it without question. It is most unlikely that they would give you an order that is illegal. They will not give orders such as just kill people of a certain age or group. Everyone has a moral compass and so any orders will or should be legitimate orders. If a general would ignore an order from the president and not pass the order on, then he would face a court martial. It would have to be an obvious unlawful order from the president in order for that to happen. I doubt this war in Iran is in this category now, the damage is already done.

Therefore making it a legitimate target. Nobody would target either lightly.Israeli commanders wouldn't give an order to blow up a hospital or a school for no reason but to cause terror, they'd make up a reason like Hamas are using it as a base.
As usual, when you know you are on a hiding to nothing, you resort to shouting and throwing insults. So, once again, you're talking ***t.
The focus is also on a battle to control oil which is why Karg island is about to be invaded. Trumpf thinks he can ensure supplies are maintained and reduce prices. It is a massive escalatory risk.I disagree about Israel, they are more than capable of going it alone, they've proved that many times in the past. On every measurable metric Iran are losing the war, they're bringing in fighters from Iraq to help the IRGC as they have been so badly weakened, but get this, not to fight an army, simply to keep the civilian population under control.
The ace they're playing is the Hormuz strait, Saudi and UAE will get involved, The IRGC need to be crushed.
If Iran do succeed in making America fail, it's game over for the West. You guys should think about learning Chinese, Russian and Parsi, and stay well clear of London.

Correct, but the question is how do you know unless you are a solicitor? even then it is a very grey area. If you refuse a command, then you are in for some serious consequences if you have it wrong. You would not receive any command that would be so blatantly obvious that it is illegal, not a call for a soldier to make unless it is blatantly obvious. dammed if you do and dammed if you dont. Orders given are expected to be acted upon immediately and not to ponder over in your own time.Nobody is above the law, whether they be a general, soldier, or a common man.

Your words not mine.

You wouldn't get a command saying that. It would be illegal from the outset and everyone would be aware of that fact. It would be classed as murder."Take no prisoners"...........
?

Completely illegal, you cannot fire at an enemy surrendering or are incapacitated to fight back. The man is a bufoon as he quotes standing before the press Friday morning, Hegseth again promised “no quarter, no mercy for our enemies.” Under the geneva convention this could and would be considered as murder, any soldier obeying these orders would also be comitting war crimes.![]()

The defense secretary’s disdain for rules of engagement and the laws of war is apparent. It’s going to lead to more war crimes — by Americans and against Americans.www.ms.now
