I was going to create a separate thread but I'll just put my question here.

Is it right in your opinion that the Royal state visit to the States is going ahead in April? Or should we have postponed or indeed cancelled it altogether?

USA is a rogue terrorist state by this point. UK is somewhat stuck in a relationship with a partner who has gone insane. IMO they should delicately find an excuse not to go until change of leadership

His Majesty should go to the US and during the formal dinner, give a speech to remind Trump that the UK/US special relationship will outlive both of them. As a Naval man himself, he should also remind him that despite his derogatory remarks regarding our armed forces, any US uniformed serviceman who has ever worked/exercised alongside UK forces would suggest otherwise.

A difficult one, on the one hand it could help with diplomatic tensions and relations with the US, Trump has a bit of a fascination with the monarchy and likes the King and Queen. On the other hand he has released a statement saying “the US won’t be there to help you any more, just like you weren’t there for us”. It may be beneficial for the visit to go ahead or it could do more harm by not attending the US. From a diplomatic point of view it should go ahead.

Whether Trump needs our help or not changes not by the day but within the same sentence. No point trying to cater to a mad man ever. Even less when the mad man is sending his troops on an illegal invasion which is also by all credible accounts also a suicide mission.

Have been saying something like this for a long time. NATO/US has been provoking Russia for years by going right up to Russia's back door and surrounding them. The Russians have already been convinced to swallow their pride and bend our way a lot by dismantling the Soviet Union. They've now been pushed too far by The West and they probably feel threatened and big loss of dignity. I don't blame Russia entirely for the Ukraine conflict.
The Soviet Union wasn't dismantled, it collapsed.
NATO never posed a threat to Russia. NATO isn't an expansionist organisation, countries apply to join because they want to.

I think there is no way the king will be visiting. My bet is on a sudden change in his current illness or something like that. Its a perfect excuse as it is already an ongoing thing.

I'm not convinced it will be a suicide mission, not when the IRGC having to recruit 12 years olds.
