According to Trump they have achieved regime change. Suppose it depends how you define the words 'achieved' and 'change'.

He's also says they've been talking to new people in Iran who are 'a lot more accessible'.

It almost beggars belief. US and Israel barrel in without (any?) discussion with nations such as ours. They cause mayhem, including the Straits debacle. Then they essentially say to nations such as ours 'It's up to you to sort out the Straits, time to put your big boy pants on. We'll be outta here in a couple of weeks'.

Iranian lawmaker says Tehran will not let go of Trump

Ali Nikzad, deputy speaker of Iran’s parliament, said on Wednesday that the Islamic Republic would not let go of Donald Trump until it had taken “revenge for the blood” of Muslims around the world.

He added that the Strait of Hormuz would “never reopen” and said no negotiations had taken place and none would take place.

Nikzad also warned that if the attacks continued, “we will leave no fuel source for the enemy.”

Well, it is April 1st.

Wasn't keir going to start seizing the shadow tankers. Over 200 have sailed through the English Channel since he made that bold statement.
We are "lined up and ready to go" apparently, so said John Healy. I would be surprised if the government doesn't act on that quite soon. To some sending these ships back would be one of Kieth's more welcome U turns.

I guess, whichever way you look at it, the current Iranian regime has to be removed somehow. Mainly because of the way they treat their own people.

It's a pity that the Arab countries in the region don't get together and force that themselves. Iran needs democracy. The people deserve to have that.

Trump has definitely gone in extremely heavy handed. I can only see things getting worse for the region.

UK military doesn't have the manpower etc....it is a shadow of its former self...
In 1982 within a two week period of readiness we sent 127 ships to the falklands to fight a war. We sent 25000 troops plus 5000 suport staff. Today we could barely muster up a sea worthy ship to send to Iran. The one ship we had HMS Dragon sat in Portsmouth for 3 weeks before it could set sail. Just imagine if Iran sank that, what position would we be in,.

The Israeli/US attacks have changed the regime for the worse, the IRGC is now in more control.

The local nations have no incentive to get involved. Unlike the US and us they're within striking distance and Iran can and will wreck any nearby nations infrastructure. Why invade a neighbour when you know that in the best case they'll trash your economy and destroy your drinking water. Iran is twice the size of any of the other Gulf nations and has loads of trained soldiers, so any invasion would bleed people worse than the Afghanistan or Iraq wars did. The only reason Israel gets away without crippling damage is because we and the US protect them and they dont share a land border.

They most certainly do have good reason to get involved, Iran is firing missiles at their oil infrastructure, they have closed their oil route through the strait of Hormuz and looking like they will be shutting down the only route out by the red sea through the Houthis. Every reason to get involved. A senior United Arab Emirates minister warned that it is no longer possible to coexist with the Iranian regime, calling its actions a form of extortion that must be confronted.
