It was very hard to tell what was the flow in or the flow out side by looking at my radiators. Well, it seems at least on one radiator I fitted the new TRV on the flow-out end rather than the flow-in lock shield end. Is it a big deal or not, generally speaking? Be a pain to have to do the whole thing again. These are upstairs radiators if that's of any help for small rooms. Thanks

I think the new TRVs work in both directions so I don't think you'll have a problem, but I'm not a heating engineer so hopefully someone who is will advise.

Some TRV can be fitted on the flow, or return, though better on the flow generally.

Problem you might find, is - when they at the point of shutting down, they set up a vibration/noise.

@triangularmonkey - can you tell us exactly which trv you used or post a photo of the valve body? Or have a look at the valve body and see if there’s 2 arrows on it - if yes, then it’s bi-directional and won’t matter.

Yep, as per @terryplumb, it’s fine and no issue. It’s bi-directional.
