Hi guys,

Currently running first fix pipe work and looking at ways of connecting the rads and the UFH system and zoning everything so im not wasting heat on places that are empty.

Zones would be
UFH - has it own 7 zone control
Conservatory
Utility room
towel rail
2 rads Upstairs.
hot water (cylinder type dependant)

i figure this many conventional zone valves etc is going to take up a lot of space so im considering using a small UFH type manifold with thermoelectric zone valves and individual room stats to control the rads.

Is there much gain in efficiency doing it do this way or is it just as easy to turn rads off and on individually when not in use and hope a TRV is enough to close it down once the room is up to temperature?

Cheers Neil

thanks, thats what i was considering although i was going to leave the 2 upstairs on the same zone.

Is there cheaper alternatives to proper UFH manifolds? seems a 4 port UFH manifold is running about 120-150.

Can thermoelectric valves be fitted to the speedfit manifolds? These come in around £30ea with shut-off valves on them.
