I intend adding a couple of rads to my property do I have to comply with part L and all that cobblers or can I just keep quiet. Also part L says each rad should have a trv is that sensible if there are 2 rads in one room?

Regards

you can do what you want, it is your property, will only be a problem if you try to sell it and it doesnt conform. why would you not add TRVs ? daft not to, they are not exactly expensive

No problem installing trvs just wondered if I need 2 in a 2 rad room. On the question of selling, which I do not intend to do soon, how does anyone not know that things were installed pre part L.

You'd be a fool not to install them while you can.

You will benefit from added comfort at the very least. Fuel efficiency is a big misnomer especially over two rads.

As mentioned above, they are not exactly expensive but do make sure you get decent, serviceable ones.

Drayton TRV 4's are the best bet for reliability, accuracy (as far as trv's go) and serviceable components.

As for compling with part L then that's a much of a muchness. You either want to or you don't. You technically should but the part L police aren't going to be knocking your door any time soon.

But like asking why you need to front tyres.....

Because you got two innit ;).

Think you got two of your to's mixed up Dan.

But I is like not we'll skooled. Innit Fam!

On a serious note there could be a room stat in there and that will play havoc!

They wont , but in order to sell a house now you must have an EPC carried out and depending who carries this out , they may pick up on it, as said its your house you can do what you want, daft not to fit them but it is completely your choice

Its an old listed property so EPC not needed. Will fit trvs was just concerned if one would fight the other.
