Trying to lift old tiled floor

Hello

I am trying to lift an old tiled kitchen floor (room will be a sitting room) so that I can lay an engineered wood floor. The ceramic tiles are being really stubborn and unfortunately I don't have the threshold height to just go over them.

I am using my old Boschhammer SDS drill and a chisel attachment, but it's extreemly slow - possible 15 mins per tile.

Any suggestions for an easier way of doing this? Maybe hire something to help?

An SDS drill might be quicker but a pig of a job what ever you use I would think

Can you get a spade under them?

You may actually find a hammer and bolster quicker as you can get a lot of energy into a single wack.

It looks as though you have a tile lifting chisel in the drill: they are great but I adapted a longish shafted bolster to use by hand. Cut about 2/3 through the blade with my trusty angle grinder and gave it a wee bend while still hot from the cutting then welded it back up. Ground a single bevel to get right under the tiles and it works a treat. You only need a slight bend with the long shaft to keep your knuckles clear of the work
