ts400 help

I have just moved into a house with a ts400 alarm system and I would like to change the pass code. But no matter what I do it just won't happen.

In fact I can't even get passed the first step in the manual!

It says to put in the first 3 digits of the code then press home then 4 but as soon as I press home the alarm starts to set.

What am I doing wrong.

there are two codes MASTER and user. do you have both codes ? sounds like you are using user code to change code, this will not work you need the master code default 7890
