I'm totally stumped, fitted an eclipse PB/NP supa latch. The latching part itself seems to be on a spring and pushes in and out, if I move the clip on the bottom of the barrell it moves in and out but the bar won't move the mechanism at all....what am i missing pls?

take the latch out, put the square bar in it, see if it is turning the square socket or if it is the wrong size.

Gave it a good pull and it opens it now if you pull the handle upwards, but solid if you try to pull the handle down. It is the right way up as marked!.

Thanks it did rotate and probably would have worked the other way round but I got a bit fed up and fitted a different mechanism. Now I think th whole door's a bit tatty so think I'm going to change the whole thing.
