Hi. I’m widening an office desk. I’m keeping both sides but replacing the horizontal tubular steel and mdf. I’ve sourced the steel I need but obviously these are hollow at each end and I’m trying to source some form of nut fitting that slots in to the ends so that the original desk side steel can be bolted on to the new wider steel. Photos included below. Do such items exist, what are they referred to and where can they be sourced?
Cheers,
J

I would look at cutting the existing bar and extending it with say a couple of angles or similar and secured to each cut end with some bolts all the way through, or similar.

Googling tubular steel joiners gives some interesting results.......some can be pinned in place too.
