Turning water back on

Right, house been closed up for 2 years been given the job of getting it all going again. Phoned water company and they said just turn on the main stop cock - well they said get plumber to do it but a plumber in central London ?
Its outside , found it - got 42in key - now what do I do just put it in and turn anti-clockwise right????

Yes I would think so but run off all the stale water before drinking it

If its turned off from there then yes. Might be off from the one inside the building.

Aaaand that would be under the sink?? Thanks for the replies btw Going to be a suck it and see I think....wish me luck. I should really find a bloke that knows what he is doing, but this will be more entertaining!
