Hi folks,

Does anyone know if it's possible to get a double TV aerial wall plate that also acts as a splitter? (one input from the aerial on the roof - two tv outputs)

We're trying to tidy things up and need two tv aerial feeds.

If you're talking about broadcast TV, not satellite or cable, then they all do that.

Hi,

I went into Maplin and B&Q and all the double outlet wall plates have two input feeds - I really need one with two outputs but just one input.

Most double wall plates either have two inputs and two outputs or are diplexers that allow two signals of differeing frequencies to be carried by the one downlead and then split out. The most common of the latter type is UHF/FM for TV and FM radio signals.

CPC (http://cpc.farnell.com/jsp/home/homepage.jsp) do a wide range of these. Another simple alternative is an in-line splitter (CPC code AP00385) which will do the job without changing the wall plate. Note that you will loose some signal through a splitter but it shouldn't be a problem unless you are in a poor reception area.

My apologies, then. It's been a long time since I fitted one that wasn't a diplexer - could have sworn they had just the one input..
