I currently have two single switches at the top of the landing at home, one for the loft light, the other for the landing light. I won't to replace one of the switches with a double switch then enabling me to dispose of the other box. Just want to tidy the wall up really. Can you suggest what switch to buy? I bought a two way two gang switch, is this appropriate?

Unscrew the old switches and carefully make a diagram of which wire goes where before you disconnect them. Even if you're sure you can't possibly forget in the space of a few minutes - it has been known for the phone to ring.
