Two way switch with 2 core and earth??

In our living room, I've got a double 2 way switch where each switch is wired in with two core and earth cable. Fine, no problem there.

However, I want one of the switches to act as a two way switch with another switch at the top of our staircase. Now, I know I'm going to have a real job replacing the two core + earth cable with three core + earth because it runs all over the house. Is there anything I can do to achieve this 2 way switch setup??

No. you were right the first time, you'll need to use 3+E

No, the only way is to run a 3+E from the living room switch to the top of the stairs.

I would agree with the above post, you will need to run a 3 core and eart from the existing switch (downstairs) to the new position (upstairs?)
