The slats under the mattress on my single sized bed have broken, and I would like to get a single piece of wood (sized 191cm by 91cm) to replace them - and stop dips in the middle.

Not knowing much about wood, what type of wood would be best for this strength-wise?

I have heard ply wood is stronger than MDF?

How thick should the wood be to stop dips?

Thanks! :)

I used chip board. Trying local timber merchant that will cut to size. Pick up or get it delivered.

Here is ours. 20 plus years old.

Oh if it could talk
