I've got a S-plan setup with a system boiler with zones for CH, DWH and UFH. The UFH zone is a short loop with a mixing valve to limit the temperature and pass the heat onto the separate under floor heating loop with manifold & pump. When the UFH is on at the same time as the CH, the radiators don't get very warm.
Am I right in thinking this is because the majority of the flow is going round the very short UFH loop? Is the solution a balancing valve (just a simple gate valve?) to restrict the flow in the UFH loop to force more of round the radiator loop instead?
