Will increase by 3.1% from April 2022, "in line with the inflation rate"

"which could represent a boost of up to £288.60 for the year" or "5.55 a week" but, in fact, very few people receive the so-called "flat rate" pension at the maximum rate.

"The basic state pension, received those who reach pension age before 2016, will increase by £4.25 a week, from £137.60 to £141.85" but the basic state pension also depends on your years of contribution and other factors, so don't be misled into celebrating early. You'll notice that the older, poorer pensioners receive a smaller increase.

As the pension is paid in arrears, you'll probably receive your increase in May (although, I find, you are taxed as if it was received in April).

The increase is not yet mentioned on the government state pension web page.
