Hello,

Something strange happened to my Electrolux drag-along ultra silencer vacuum cleaner - one day it had a few cms of water in the bag chamber - I have no idea where from, but suspect condensation due to being left on concrete floor in our laundry drying room for some time.

Once dried out with new bags it works OK but is quite noisy now. It has a high pitched whine.

Is there any simple fix I can try (e.g. a squirt of WD-40) to make it quiet again? There's a small amount of rust/discolouration on the metal intake to the motor/fan just next to the bag - suggesting some water has got in the innards. I suppose the motor brushes are damaged and that's not something I will try to fix.

very grateful for any thoughts!

cheers,
Farjer.
