Hi,

Sorry for being a bit naive , but what are the consequences of not having radiators balanced?

Many thanks,

Gary

Radiators may take more or less of the heated water flow than they need. Consequently they will be hotter or cooler with higher or lower outputs compared to the design (if any).

However with TRVs fitted to most rads it doesn't matter so much since the TRV on an "overheating" rad will shut down sooner, thus diverting the flow to other less favoured rads.

Basically, if your system is delivering the heat where it's wanted, you don't need to worry about balancing. However if some rads aren't delivering the heat required then balancing may be required.

Thanks Chris,

The radiators all have TRV's fitted, apart from the one in the lounge (where the temp. detector is).

All of the output valves are fully open, but as I am happy with the heat from each radiator, I'll leave everything as it is :D
